The Weaver by Tatiana Blass
Entitled “Penelope”, this exhibit was inspired by Odysseus’ wife in Homer’s Odyssey, Penelope, who kept herself busy during her husband’s 20 year journey by weaving an elaborate burial shroud and subsequently unravelling it each night. Set in the Chapel of Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil, a red carpet leads to a loom with chaotic strands of yarn uncoiling in every direction, through the windows and to the courtyard outside, where they’ve spread like a virus. Has this never-ending tapestry been woven or unravelled?
Wow this is impressive on so many levels. The original is great, but I love this sound, and I love their teamwork guitar playing! Somebody That I Used to Know, by Walk Off the Earth.
The filmmakers Katherine Fairfax Wright and Malika Zouhali-Worrall explore the motivations, sorrows and dreams of the slain Ugandan gay rights activist David Kato. Such an emotional video! Please watch.
I don’t know what I can do for the LGBTQ community in Uganda, but I know I can pass this along. Please watch this video.
Especially those southern CT folk, check out the trailers and pleaaaaaaase request it? It just asks for your email address and zipcode, and they only use your email address to send you a confirmation email. The more people request it in the fairfield county area, the better the chances are of it showing in theaters near us…AND I REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS
